Republic of the Marshall Islands/Pacific: Drought Emergency Appeal
The Republic of Marshall Islands just declared a state of emergency in the northern areas of the islands. On May 8th, 2013 13 atolls/islands were declared a state of disaster due to the persistent dry weather creating a scarcity of water. The most pressing concern now is the need for access to safe water. The need for the AWECS is clear given a situation like this.
